Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12-15 Fresh blueberries
  • 10 Fresh mint leaves
  • 2 oz. Honey simple syrup (or simple syrup)
  • Fresh lime juice (juice of one lime)
  • Sparkling water - top off
  • Ice (use lots of ice) We love Arctic bagged

Instructions

  1. Muddle the blueberries – Add the blueberries to a cocktail shaker and gently muddle until juicy and fragrant.
  2. Add the mint leaves – Gently muddle the mint just until aromatic (avoid over-muddling to prevent bitterness).
  3. Add lime juice and simple syrup – Stir to combine and dissolve the syrup into the fruit.
  4. Fill a glass with ice – Crushed or cubed both work; crushed gives a more traditional mojito feel.
  5. Strain into the glass – Pour the blueberry-mint mixture over the ice.
  6. Top with sparkling water – Stir gently to preserve the bubbles.
  7. Garnish and serve – Finish with fresh mint, blueberries, and a lime wedge.

Notes

  • Blueberries: Fresh are best for muddling, but frozen work in a pinch (thaw slightly first).
  • Mint: Fresh mint is classic for mojitos—avoid bruising too aggressively to prevent bitterness.
  • Honey Simple Syrup: a gently sweet alternative to sugar (use simple syrup if you are not a honey fan)
  • Sparkling Water: Plain keeps the flavors crisp, but lime or berry-infused works beautifully too.

Best Serving Tips

  • Serve over plenty of ice in a highball or stemless wine glass.

  • Garnish with fresh mint, a lime wedge, or a few blueberries.

  • For parties, pre-muddle blueberries and mint, then add sparkling water just before serving.

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey simple syrup to taste.
