Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 lemons sliced into thin wheels
  • 3 tablespoons agave
  • 10 mint leaves
  • 10 ounces sparkling water
  • ice (we used Arctic bagged chunky ice)

Instructions

How To Make a Lemon Mojito Mocktail

  1. Slice lemons into thin wheels, removing and discarding the ends.
  2. In a sturdy, tall glass or cocktail shaker, muddle the lemon slices until juice is released.
  3. Add mint and muddle the mint leaves with the lemon juice. Crush the mint gently until you smell the mint aroma.
  4. Add agave syrup and stir.
  5. Add sparkling water and stir.
  6. Stir gently to combine. Strain into two glasses filled with ice.
  7. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the agave to taste, depending on how sweet you like your drink
  • Fresh lemon juice gives the best flavor—avoid bottled if possible
  • Agave blends easily into cold drinks, so there’s no need to make simple syrup
  • Gently muddle the mint to release flavor without making it bitter
  • Strain for a smoother drink, or leave unstrained for a fresh, mint-forward look
  • Add sparkling water just before serving to keep the drink bubbly
  • Serve over ice for a light, refreshing mocktail

Muddled vs. Juiced Lemon (Flavor Tip)

Muddling fresh lemon slices yields a softer, more rounded citrus flavor than using straight lemon juice. It adds a slightly mellow, infused quality that pairs beautifully with mint. If you prefer a brighter, more tangy drink, you can use freshly squeezed lemon juice instead. My husband and I taste-tested this recipe twice, and both agreed that muddled lemon slices were preferred.
