Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Fresh Strawberry Flavor – Real muddled strawberries give this mocktail a naturally juicy, vibrant flavor that tastes bright and refreshing—not overly sugary.
- Classic Margarita Vibes – Fresh lime juice and a non-alcoholic tequila alternative deliver a crisp margarita-style finish everyone loves, while keeping it completely alcohol-free.
- Easy Yet Beautiful for Entertaining – This mocktail looks gorgeous in the glass with very little effort. A salted rim, fresh strawberry, and lime wedge instantly make it party-ready.
Recipe Ingredients For Non-Alcoholic Margarita
- Non-Alcoholic Tequila Alternative – A non-alcoholic tequila alternative gives this mocktail its classic margarita-inspired flavor with earthy agave notes and a subtle warmth that makes the drink feel balanced and sophisticated.
- Non-Alcoholic Orange Liqueur – This adds a soft citrus sweetness that rounds out the lime and strawberry flavors beautifully, giving the mocktail a familiar margarita-style finish.
- Fresh Lime Juice – Fresh lime juice keeps the drink bright, crisp, and refreshing. It balances the sweetness of the strawberries and agave while adding that signature margarita tang.
- Agave Syrup – Agave adds smooth sweetness and blends especially well into margarita-style drinks. You can easily adjust the amount depending on how sweet your strawberries are.
- Fresh Strawberries – Fresh muddled strawberries give this mocktail its naturally juicy flavor and beautiful pink color. Ripe strawberries will create the best flavor and sweetness.
- Ice – Ice keeps the mocktail chilled and refreshing while helping create that classic margarita experience. Chunky ice or pebble ice both work beautifully here. We find Arctic Ice in bulk at our local Costco. We break it into smaller bags so it’s always at the ready!
- Optional Garnishes – Fresh strawberry slices, lime wedges, or a Tajín or a salted rim make this mocktail feel extra festive and party-ready ✨

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
- Non-Alcoholic Tequila Alternative – A non-alcoholic tequila alternative gives this drink its classic margarita-inspired flavor. I love using one with earthy agave notes and a little warmth to give it a more authentic margarita feel. We love Ritual, but there are many excellent brands out there.
- Non-Alcoholic Orange Liqueur – This adds citrus depth and helps recreate the flavor profile of a traditional margarita. You can also substitute a 1/2 ounce of orange juice, but the flavor will not be as nuanced.
How To Make A Virgin Strawberry Margarita
- Rim the Glass – If desired, run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it into coarse salt or Tajín.
- Muddle the Strawberries – In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh strawberries until juicy and crushed, almost a jam texture.
- Shake – Add the non-alcoholic tequila alternative, non-alcoholic orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, agave syrup, and ice. Shake well until chilled.
- Pour & Serve – Fill your glass with fresh ice and strain the mocktail into the prepared glass.
- Garnish – Top with a fresh strawberry and lime wedge for an extra glow-worthy finish. You can also purchase a bag of dried sliced oranges, which are always at the ready for a pro-style garnish.
Equipment
We always use the OXO Muddler. It’s a sturdy steel muddler that gets the job done. I have tried fancier muddlers, but they don’t crush the fruit as well as this basic one.

Serving and Garnish Tips
- Use chunky ice for a prettier presentation and slower-melting drinks.
- Salt the rim or salt half the rim.
- Fresh strawberries make the biggest difference in flavor here. If your berries are especially sweet, you can reduce the agave slightly.
- Want a frozen version? Blend everything with 1-2 cups of ice for an easy frozen or slushy strawberry margarita mocktail.
- Serve these in margarita glasses for parties or use stemless glasses for a more casual summer vibe.
- This recipe is especially beautiful for pink-themed parties, baby showers, and summer entertaining.
Virgin Strawberry Margarita – Pitcher Recipe

Make It a Pitcher (Serves 8) 🍓
Perfect for parties, girls’ nights, and easy entertaining.
Pitcher Ingredients
- 16 oz non-alcoholic tequila alternative
- 8 oz non-alcoholic orange liqueur
- 8 oz fresh lime juice
- 8 oz agave syrup (adjust to taste)
- 32 large fresh strawberries, chopped and muddled
- Ice for serving
Pitcher Instructions
Muddle the strawberries until resembling strawberry jam. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well until combined. Strain into a large pitcher.
Refrigerate until ready to serve. When serving, fill glasses with fresh ice rather than adding ice directly to the pitcher to keep the drinks from becoming watered down. Garnish each glass with fresh strawberries and lime wedges for a beautiful party presentation.
GLOW NOTES
This Strawberry Margarita Mocktail was inspired by the sweetest plump strawberries I found at a little local fruit stand here in Sonoma. They were so beautiful and perfectly ripe that I came home with six full pints and immediately started testing recipes in the kitchen.
The berries were incredibly sweet, juicy, and full of flavor—which ended up making this mocktail even more refreshing and vibrant than I imagined. Sometimes the best recipe inspiration really does start with beautiful seasonal ingredients and a simple moment that feels a little special ✨
Here’s to slowing down, savoring the season, and creating glow-worthy moments one beautiful drink at a time.
XOXO, Sher 🍓
